I’m David Lapp — a husband, father, and follower of Jesus Christ. I’ve been married to my incredible wife Fannie for over 20 years, and together we’re raising a lively, beautiful family of twelve children. Yes, twelve — and our youngest two are twin boys! Life in our home is loud, a little chaotic, and filled with love, laughter, and a passion to make a difference.
I grew up in an Old Order Amish family, one of ten children, on a farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We didn’t have electricity, cars, or modern conveniences. My siblings and I spent our childhood working on the farm, playing outside, and learning the values of hard work, faith, and family — lessons that still shape who I am today.
As a father, my greatest joy is watching my children grow and discover their God-given gifts — becoming the unique individuals God created them to be. There’s nothing better than seeing each of them, in their own way, step into the purpose God has placed on their lives. Whether it’s their curiosity, creativity, leadership, or compassion for others, I’m grateful to be a front-row witness to their journey.
In 2005, after being excommunicated from the Amish community, our family stepped into a new season of trusting God on a deeper level. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth every step. Today, I serve as CEO of Blessings of Hope, a nonprofit food distribution ministry that’s grown from a three-car garage to a national vision. Blessings of Hope is dedicated to bridging the gap between food waste and hunger while sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ.
In 2025, I launched a YouTube channel to give people a glimpse into the day-to-day life of our family, ministry work, leadership lessons, and the faith journey we’re living out. I’m also active on other social media platforms and would love for you to connect with me there and be part of our unfolding story.
